What time are your appointments usually?
We do Monday – Friday video appointments in the evening.
What are your charges for your service?
For patient’s who have BCBS/BCN, charges are covered by insurance. You are responsible for copay/deductible as dictated by your insurance. For patient’s who don’t have BCBS/BCN charges are:
New patient appointments are $300
Established patient appointments are $200
What are your thoughts on therapy? Do you provide therapy?
Yes, we provide therapy.
Dr Rungta believes therapy is an extremely important part of mental health. He often tells patient’s that mental health has 3 wheels – therapy, medications, and the patient’s desire/effort to get better.
Do you accept Insurance?
We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network (BCBS/BCN) and are considered out-of-network for all other insurances. We collect service charges before the appointment. We can provide super-bills which can be submitted by the patient for out-of-network reimbursement for services. This reimbursement varies from insurance to insurance. The out-of-network reimbursement is usually lower than the cost of services charged by this clinic.
Why do you not accept medicaid/medicare patients in your practice?
CMS (Center for medicare services) does not allow clinics to charge cash from medicaid/medicare patients. As such we do not accept medicaid/medicare patients in our practice.
Dr Rungta's philosophy on the amount of medication?
Every medication including Tylenol/Ibuprofen has side effects. Dr Rungta believes we should use only as much medicine as is needed to achieve functionality. We start medications low, and adjust doses up to see at which minimum level of medication, can the patient function optimally.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. Payments are due before the patient sees the physician.
How long before any progress?
Psychiatric medications work on changing brain chemistry. As such, most psychiatric medications (and there are exceptions) can take 4-6 weeks before their effect is seen. The other aspect in Psychiatry is, family members often see progress before the patient realizes they are getting better.
Cancellation policies and cancellation charges?
Appointment’s cancelled 2 business days in advance, are not charged. Cancellations/no shows other than above are charged full visit fee.
Policies on refill of meds?
Towards the end of an appointment, we write scripts for enough meds till the next time the Physician wants to see you. We do not do refills without appointments. If you have to reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 2 business days to call in refills till next appointment. We do not do same day refills.
